North Santiam River – 3/4 Day Trip

North Santiam River Trip – Packsaddle Park to Mehema – (14miles)

Thank you for inquiring about our one day paddle raft adventure! The North Santiam is among the Willamette Valley’s more picturesque streams. Your 14 mile adventure begins at Packsaddle County Park and ends at the quaint community of Mehama.

Your trip will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. with check-in at Packsaddle County Park, located just minutes east of Salem on Highway 22 . After a thorough on-shore training session by our knowledgeable, company certified guides, your adventure will get underway.

Glide through tranquil pools of gin-clear water where you can see the river bottom fifteen feet below. Relish in the excitment of boiling, churning whitewater with names like Spencer’s hole or Dewitt Rapids. Feel your heart flutter as you help pilot your raft toward the six foot vertical drop of Mill City Falls.

A classic pool and drop stream comprised of Class II, III and IV whitewater, we think you’ll fin the North Santiam a delightful experience. At Fisherman’s Bend, we pull out for a rest and an all-you-can-eat deli lunch and assorted beverages.

Little North Santiam River enters at our right.

As we approach the Lyons-Mehama Bridge, we keep our eyes peeled for the last quick turn.

This is an adventure for any river enthusiast and one you won’t want to miss. If you have any questions, please give us a call. We look forward to boating with you soon!

Note: Because the North Santiam’s water temperature can be on the chilly side, RAPID RIVER RAFTERS supplies each participant with an all-weather paddle jacket and pants. These paddle jackets and pants are made from nylon-coated taffeta with neoprene cuffs and neck and drawstring closures at the waist, locking in the wearer’s body heat.
